HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering
What will I learn?
This 2 year course has been designed with career progression in mind and will essentially prepare you for the HND course.
You will be given an overview of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and touch upon mechanical and manufacturing engineering so you can get a feel for the dynamic of the industry.
You will develop your skills and personal qualities, helping to identify essential attributes for a successful performance in working life. This will help you make an immediate impact and contribution to employers once you are fully qualified.
Once completed, our qualification is recognised nationally by companies, allowing students a direct progression into employment.
During the course you will study a range of topics including:
- Analytical methods for engineers
- Engineering science
- Engineering design
- Business management techniques
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Combination and sequential logic
- Electrical power
- Project design, implementation and evaluation
What could I progress on to?
This course is set up perfectly for progression onto the HND where you will be able to expand your knowledge and prepare yourself for employment or a full degree top up.
You may also look to take advantage of our excellent links with local employers, such as British Gypsum, to build your experience in the work place.
Past students have gone on to secure jobs with local businesses such as Qinetiqs, where graduates secure technician, supervisor and management roles. Past students have worked with companies such as EDF, Aero Vintage, Photek, Deutsch(TE), Secol Engineering, VG Scienta, Stevens Rowsell, British Gypsum and Interface Engineering.
