What entry requirements do I need?
You will need a minimum of: 4 GCSEs grade A*- C (grade 4 - 9) including English and maths. It is desirable to have a grade B/5 in a relevant subject such as Business.
What will I learn?
During this one-year course you will develop a sound understanding of the key elements of business and enterprise, and develop the skills you will need for a career in Business or Tourism.
Over the duration of the course you will expand your knowledge of the business world and explore the key features of tourism. You will learn how to plan, promote and market a business product or service, complete financial planning and forecasting documents, understand the element of the recruitment, selection and employment process and plan business travel to global destinations.
Core modules you will study include:

- Finance for Business Planning & Forecasting
- Principles of Marketing & Promoting a Brand
- Principles of Customer Service
- Business Travel Planning
- Recruitment, Selection & Employment
- Global Business Destinations
As part of your course you will be expected to undertake a week long external work placement, guidance on this will be given by tutors.
You will be expected to wear smart business wear for the duration of your course, both whilst you are in college and when you are on trips and visits, unless you are instructed otherwise by tutors.
You will be assessed through the course in a number of ways including, coursework, exams, individual and group presentations and role plays.
What could I progress on to?
Once you have completed the course you have the option to continue your studies at Level 3, either in Business, Enterprise & Commerce or in Travel, Tourism & Aviation.
After completing this course you will have a range of essential skills to help you in the world of Enterprise, whether in Business or Tourism. You could start your career as a finance or operations administration assistant, travel planner, or marketing assistant in any business in the public or private sector.
There will be a cost of approximately £185 which will cover the cost of books, resources and trips and visits to various trade fairs and industry linked organisations such as the World Travel Market. In addition you will be expected to provide your own smart business wear that you will have to wear at all times when in college and on some trips and visits. Your tutors will guide you on this and you will be given a uniform guide sheet at enrolment.
